Welcome to the
MandarinUniversity.Com,
an online academy and research centre for the
Mandarin Chinese language.
The Mandarin University Dot Com
is a higher academy that carries out continuous advanced research on the
Mandarin Chinese language, the official language of
the People's Republic of CHINA
and the Chinese all over the world (in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore,
Malaysia, etc.).
This
MandarinUniversity.Com
project is a very important worldwide collaboration between
Mandarin Chinese language experts, consultants, researchers,
instructors, teachers,
linguists, enthusiasts, etc.
Our Mission
The mission of the
MandarinUniversity.Com
Higher Academy is to carry out continuous and advanced researches
on the Mandarin Chinese language, so that better and more effective
methodologies could be created towards teaching the proper,
official and universal Mandarin Chinese language of China.
Who Are We?
The people behind the
MandarinUniversity.Com
Higher Academy is a group of Mandarin Chinese language
experts, consultants, researchers,
instructors, teachers,
linguists, enthusiasts, etc. from all over the world.
The idea for the
MandarinUniversity.Com
project, first came from Sun Laoshi of Shanghai (China)
and Zhang Laoshi of Gaoxiong (Taiwan). Later on,
Chen Laoshi from Singapore, Lin Laoshi and
Huang Laoshi from Malaysia also joined them.
Soon, many Mandarin Chinese language teachers and tutors from
all over the world were brought into the project too.
Over the years, our researches have brought us in touch and collaborate with
fellow Chinese language enthusiasts and academics from
China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand,
India, United Kingdom & Europe, United States, Canada, etc.
Our Main Focus
The worldwide applications of the Mandarin Chinese language in everyday life,
work, business, study, etc. are our main areas of research, on top of the
different methods used to teach the Mandarin Chinese language
to different levels of learners / students:
- Pre-Schoolers (3 - 6 years old small children)
- Primary School Students Standard / Grade One to Six (7 - 12 years old children)
- Secondary School Students Form One to Five or Grade Seven to Eleven
(13 - 17 years old teenagers)
- University Students / Under-graduates (18 - 25 years old)
- Adults In General (18 - 50 years old)
- Older Adults (50 years and above)
We are very interested in how the Mandarin Chinese language
is learnt, mastered and used. We study and analyse why certain people
find it easier to learn and speak the Mandarin Chinese language,
whereas others find them very difficult. We compare the learners of the
Mandarin Chinese language from different nationality, race, age, sex,
mother tongue, etc. and see how one group could learn, master and apply
the Mandarin Chinese language differently from the others.
We research, study, analyse and experiment with the different methods and
systems of teaching the Mandarin Chinese language, all over the world.
We want to know why some Mandarin Chinese language teaching systems
are effective, and why some are not. We want to know which are the most
effective systems for teaching the Mandarin Chinese language and why.
Different Components of The MANDARIN Chinese Language
We carry out extensive research, study, analysis and experiments on
the Mandarin Chinese language:
- Mandarin Conversation (Verbal Communication: Speaking and Listening In Mandarin)
- Reading & Character Recognition of the Chinese Language
- Writing of Chinese Characters
- Hanyu Pinyin (Romanisation of the Mandarin Chinese language)
- Intonations (4 Tones of Spoken Mandarin Words)
- Phonetics of the Mandarin Chinese Language
- Grammar of the Mandarin Chinese Language
- Comprehension, Interpretation and Translation of the Mandarin Chinese Language
to other languages and vice versa
- Traditional and Simplified Chinese Characters
- Everyday Chinese language and Ancient Chinese language
In order to truely understand the Mandarin Chinese language and
the Chinese language in general, we also
carry out research and study of the other main Chinese dialects, such as
the Cantonese Chinese language, Hokkien Chinese language, Teochew Chinese language,
Hakka Chinese language, Hainan Chinese language, Foochow Chinese language, etc.
Practical Experiments & Applications
Among the first experiments we have carried out with regards to
a new teaching system for the Mandarin Chinese language, is
the Mandarin.Com.My project
under Gao Laoshi from Malaysia. From April 2003 - November 2006,
Gao Laoshi has successfully conducted almost 50 Basic (Elementary)
Mandarin Chinese
Conversation courses in Kuching city, Sarawak state, East Malaysia (Borneo),
using the
TalkMandarin.Com system.
Almost 1000 English-speaking adults from all over the world have attended
the TalkMandarin.Com
Basic Mandarin Chinese Conversation courses in Kuching, Sarawak.
Other than the 20% of the students who are Chinese (who cannot speak Mandarin),
the other 80% of the adult students are from different races and nationalities
(including but not limited to Malaysia, Singapore,
the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand,
Canada, Poland, Austria, Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Brunei,
Philippines, etc.).
Many of the students above who have attended the
TalkMandarin.Com
Basic (Elementary) course, have also successfully continued to the
Intermediate, Advanced and Continuous courses.
The break-through
TalkMandarin.Com system
under Gao Laoshi's
Mandarin.Com.My project
is a very good example of how possible and easy it is to teach the
Mandarin Chinese language in an effective, practical and fun way, as long as you
have the right system.
Remember: The beautiful MANDARIN Chinese language is not difficult
to learn, as long as you do it the right way.
Thank you for dropping by. We hope you have found the information you are looking for.

best regards,
MandarinUniversity.Com,
